We Believe - text version
The Country Chapel and Refuge, Inc.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe in order to glorify our Father and His kingdom, using the Bible as our inerrant authority,  all of the Chapel and Refuge are governed as in 2 Timothy 3:16, Proverbs 16:3-4, Psalms 127:1.

We believe that the Bible was communicated to men by God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit (the trinity), and we do trust in Him with all of our hearts, not with our own understanding, that He has determined our directions and paths. (Proverbs 3:5,6).

We recognize ourselves as a body of Christian believers, working together for the common purpose to spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, in accordance with “whoever believes in him should not perish" (John 3:16).

We as an organization will pursue all these activities, both with the Chapel and Refuge, under the laws of the State of Idaho and the United States of America, as in Romans 13:1-2.  So be it, until there is a conflict between the State and Federal laws, and the Laws of God, as in Acts 4:19, whereupon, the Laws of God will take precedence.

We believe the basis for the development of this organization is through the purposes and directions of God, the Father, one of His commandments being Isaiah 54:2 (the primary scripture under which this corporation was developed), and with renewal, reconciliation, restoration, and refreshing in the Christian Faith.  (2 Corinthians 5:18, Amos 9:11).

Purpose and Mission ...

1. We believe that our primary purpose is to preach and teach the Gospel, promote fellowship according to the Bible, the Word of God Almighty,i n accord with Matthew 28:19, and 1 John 1:7.
2.  We believe that The Country Chapel and Refuge will be to provide a place of refuge (retreat), and an opportunity for all persons desiring renewal, reconciliation, restoration, and refreshing in the Christian Faith, as in Isaiah 54:2.
3.  We believe that The Country Chapel and Refuge is to align wholly in all things with the Word of God, as in 2 Timothy 3:16.
4.  We believe that The Country Chapel and Refuge is to provide people a place of worship of God, as directed in Matthew 5:14-16 and  Psalms 119:105.
5. We believe that in daily activities,  The Country Chapel and Refuge will own, operate, buy, rent, sell, acquire by gifts, real, personal or mixed properties as necessary for carrying on the implementation and operation of The Country Chapel and Refuge, Inc., as in Jeremiah 29:11.

We also believe ...

The Bible ...
The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, a revelation from God to man, that the Bible is the infallible rule of faith and conduct, superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason, and as demonstrated in 2 Timothy 3:16, 17.
We believe the Bible is the infallible guide in all matters, as demonstrated in 2 Peter 1:20, 21.

God...
God is spirit, manifested as three individuals - the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).  God has revealed Himself, as eternally, self-existent, self-revealed, the “I AM”, further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, as demonstrated in the following scriptures:  Exodus 3:14, Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10-11,  John 10:30, John 14:11,  John 14:26,  John 16:7.  Psalms 51:11,  2 Peter 1:20,21 , Mark 12:29-31, Matthew 1:18.

Jesus Christ ...
Jesus Christ is God the Son, eternally existing, who came to this earth, and lived as both flesh and God. He is true God and true man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He was tempted in every way, but yet was without sin. He died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. He rose bodily from the grave on the third day, ascended into  heaven, where at the right hand of God the Father, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.  Some scriptures supporting this position are: John 1:1,2, John 1:14 , and Matthew 1:1-17.  The exact birth of Jesus Christ begins with Matthew 1:1-17 and continues to and beyond John 1:14.  We believe Jesus Christ is from Genesis to Revelation.
.
The Commandments ...
We believe in the Ten Commandments, as presented in Exodus 20:6; however, in addition, our Lord Jesus Christ presented us with a new and better covenant, as in Mark 12:29-31, which takes precedence, as in Mark 12:29-31.

The New Covenant ...
The Lord Jesus Christ Himself, declared The New Covenant.  That New Covenant is presented in the following scriptures:  1 Corinthians 11:23-29.

Fall of Man ...
Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness".  Man fell, by choice, by voluntary transgression, and his only redemption is through Jesus Christ.  Some supporting scriptures are:  Genesis 1:26, 27, Genesis 2:15-17, Genesis 3:1, 4-5, 6-7, Romans 5:12 , 15-16,17, 19.

Salvation ...
The Grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all (or will appear to all) men, through the preaching of repentance toward God, and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Man is saved by Grace, not by works, as shown in Acts 15:11, Romans 11:5-6, Ephesians 2:5,  James 2:17, 26, Matthew 28:18-19, Romans 10:9-10, 17, Titus 2:11, 3:4-7, Luke 24:46-47, 1 John 1:8-9.

Evidence of Salvation ...
Evidence of when a man is saved:  John 13:34-35  "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.", also as in 1 John 2:9-11, 4:7-8

The Rapture...
Jesus said He would return.   There are many evidences of this, including the fact that only Father (God) knows when. The rapture of the body of Christ will take place just before the tribulation, when all the true believers in Christ that are alive and remain shall be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, with the dead in Christ rising first.  The following scriptures demonstrate these evidences:  1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Mark 13:32-33,16:26-27, Luke 12:40  1 Thessalonians  5:2, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 , Titus 2:13, Luke 21:36.

The Second Coming of Christ ...
The imminent personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ will return a second time, not to be confused with the Rapture.  The Rapture is a “catching up", as in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.  This is supported by the following scriptures:  Mark 13:32-33, Matthew 16:26-27,  Luke 12:40, John 14:1-4, John 14:18,  2 Thessalonians 1:7, 2:2-4, Revelation 19:9, Revelation 22:20.

The Country Chapel and Refuge, Inc. recognizes itself as an integral part of the Body of Christ and dedicates itself to the principles of Christian cooperation with all Christian evangelical/charismatic/Pentecostal churches and Christian organizations, based on those same concepts, as in Romans 8:38, 39. The Country Chapel and Refuge, Inc. seeks to maintain a spirit of fellowship that transcends denominational differences and focuses upon the Lordship of Jesus Christ, as in Romans 10:9,10.

The Country Chapel and Refuge, Inc., while not specifically stated as an outreach of Abundant Life Church of Clarkston, WA, does recognize a clear relationship, both to our Lord Jesus Christ and to the fellowship of believers of the Christian Faith.  The same relationship is recognized in regard to Faith Mission of Uganda, Inc. of Uganda, East Africa, and all our fellow believers - the church as in Colossians 1:18.

There are various missionaries and evangelical/charismatic/Pentecostal organizations that are also supported periodically, as by others, not to be misunderstood as only through The Country Chapel and Refuge, Inc.

Ordinances ...

We believe in ...
Baptism ...
The ordinance of Baptism by immersion in water shall be administered to all those who request it and have repented of  their sins, believed on the Lord Jesus Christ to the saving of their souls, have given clear evidence of their salvation, and declared  Romans 10:9,10.  Some scriptures that support this position are:  Matthew 3:11, 28:18-19, Romans 6:3-4, Colossians 2:11-12, Acts 2:38-39

Communion ...
The ordinance of the Lord's Supper (Communion) shall be observed regularly as enjoined in the Scriptures, demonstrated with the following scriptures:  Luke 22:17-20, 1 Cor 11:23-29

Baptism in the Holy Spirit ...
The baptism in the Holy Spirit refers to the descent and indwelling of God's Spirit - immersed in the personal Presence and power of God and the risen Jesus Christ  The Lord Jesus has already promised this precious gift to anyone who believes and sincerely asks Him.  This baptism may be received  by the laying on of hands (Acts 8:17), among other methods ... all directed by the Holy Spirit.  Also, among various signs and evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit is the speaking of unintelligible tongues, although not required - always, only directed by the Holy Spirit, not man, as in 1 Corinthians 14:2.  Occasionally, there is a body movement associated with baptism in the Holy Spirit, although none is expected, is necessary, nor required.  None through our might nor power, but through His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).  Our Lord says that we should seek prophecy more than tongues, however, but only from God.  (1 Corinthians 14:4, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

Some people believe that fervent prayer will cause baptism in the Holy Spirit, but that is not the only method presented in the scriptures.   See the verses below:  Acts 8:17, 2:1-4, 2:38,  Mark 1:8,  Luke 11:13.

Laying on of Hands (healing) ...
It is the belief that divine power or qualities can be transferred from one believer to another by laying hands upon the other individual, through the power of the Holy Spirit, not from either individual.  Both the Old Testament and the New Testament have many occurrences of this act.  Some examples: In Genesis 48:14, Matthew 8:3, Matthew 19:13, Acts 6:6,  28:8, 1 Timothy 5:22, 2 Timothy 1:6, James 5:14
